The official language of the Congress will be English

2. Abstracts Publication

Accepted abstracts will be published in the Congress Proceedings which will be available for delegates in Electronic and hard copy format, included with the registration fee

3. Scientific Programme and Information on Meetings

The detailed scientific programme with definitive titles and names of chairpersons will be provided at the registration desk. The definitive programme will be also available at the conference website

4. Invitation letter

If requested, the Chairman of the Organizing Committee will be pleased to provide a personal invitation letter to facilitate visa application after registration to the conference. This letter should not be considered a commitment from the Organizing Committee to provide financial support

5. Passport and Visa

Α valid passport is requested for travelling to Spain. For citizens of ΕU member countries, a valid identity card is sufficient. Α visa is required for many of the Eastern European, Asian, American or African countries. For more information, kindly contact the Spain Consulate in your home country or a local travel agency. 1. Deadline for Abstract submission has been extended up to 25th September. Abstracts should be submitted online via the congress website (do not send by email) following these instructions:

- The presenting author has to be registered for the Conference.

- All abstracts must be submitted in English. 

2. Abstracts should be submitted exclusively through the Conference website: www.prioniberiancongresscordoba2017.com Submission procedure indicated at the official website of the Conference must be followed

3. Abstracts should deal with one or various of the topics covered by the 6th IBERIAN CONGRESS ON PRIONS. The topic list/Thematic area is as follows: 

- Prion diseases in animals

- Prion diseases and Prion-like diseases in humans

- Prion structure and biology 

4. For abstract acceptance, a least one of the authors included in the communication must be registered in the Conference and the author who will present the paper should be underlined

5. Abstracts should be submitted through the “on-line” form available at the bottom of this page (Submit abstract), including:
  • Presenter: Name and surname of the presenting author
  • Authors: List of authors (including presenting author) with name and surname avoiding upper-case letters, e.g., Name: Sergio. Surname: Aranda-Ocampo, assigning to each author the institution provided previously.  The presenter should be selected
  • Author's affiliation and information: E-mail address
6. The abstract structure must be as follows:
  • Title
  • Then, “copy & paste” the main text of the abstract into the specific textbox, do not re-write the headings.
  • Please, do not add a dot at the end of each section. You can use the commands "italics" I, underlined U and bold B to provide format to the text directly in the web application.
  • Maximum length: should not exceed 300 words.
  • The submission application provides by the default a specific font style and size. The application does not allow graphic tables or images

Submitted abstract will be reviewed by the Scientific Committee for acceptance

The Scientific Committee will provide a reference number for those abstracts that have been accepted. The Scientific Committee will reserve the right to select communications as oral or poster presentations according to scientific quality criteria. Submission of communications to the Conference does not directly imply acceptance. The presenters will be informed by email communication acceptance and the oral/poster presentation assignment before the deadline of early registration

Communication Abstracts presentation certificates will be provided by the Organizing Committee at the end of the Congress



  • Presenters can send the presentation file in advance to the Technical Secretariat of the Conference or bring it on a memory stick or portable device
  • Α slide projector, overhead projector, computer facilities, Video Data projector, laser pointer and Internet connection will be available for all sessions
  • The time for ORAL communication presentations will not exceed 12 minutes allowing 3 further minutes for discussion. Authors are encouraged for a maximum number of 15-20 slides. Audiovisual content can also be displayed if needed


  • The POSTER must not exceed the size of 90 cm wide x 120 cm high, with letter size that allows reading the contents approximately 1.5 meters away from the poster
  • The POSTER must be in the place assigned by the Conference organizers before 11:30h. Poster authors must be in front of their posters during the poster session to address questions /remarks from attendants.
  • POSTER REMOVAL: except in case of justifiable cause, posters should not be removed until the end of the Conference so that all attendants can have enough time to read them
